Small hikes in the villages of Verdon
The Verdon has small picturesque and charming villages. The majority of them offer walking trails. It is possible to get away from a few kilometers only to discover breathtaking scenery.
There are no less than 70 circuits in nearly 40 villages located in the Verdon Regional Nature Park. The level of difficulty may vary from one hike to another. Have a good map and find out from the tourist office.
The Blanc Martel trail for regulars
The Blanc Martel trail is undoubtedly one of the most famous Gorges du Verdon. Very crowded in summer, it offers beautiful landscapes from the beginning to the end. This hike makes it possible to go up the Verdon by the water on more than 13 kilometers.
Starting from the chalet Maline, you will follow the torrent for about 8 hours until the Sublime Point. The route is reserved for hikers in good physical condition. The Imbert ladders (6 ladders, 252 steps), represent an additional difficulty if you are subject to vertigo.
The trail of the Basses Gorges du Verdon: GR99
For landscapes as wild as the rest of the verdon. Newly refurbished path offering a fabulous route over the green waters of the Verdon. This path runs along the old canal de provence. It is accessed from Montmeyan on the edge of Lake Montmeyan-Quinson.
Just before Quinson Bridge, turn left onto the "Cow's Draille" trail that will take you to St. Maxime Chapel. Duration approximately : 3h30.
The GR4, star of Verdon
Several GR crisscross the Verdon. But the most appreciated is the GR4, which crosses the entire massif. The landscapes are varied and allow to apprehend the many facets of the Verdon.
